Welcome to Bragg N' Bout Business! I am your host, Gregg Hinton. Who am I? Absolutely nobody. And it doesn’t matter. So...Bragg N’ Bout Business. You are probably wondering why a small hamlet of 500 or so people have its own business podcast. Well, it’s a bit of a hybrid podcast: Firstly, it was created with the intent to promote and get the word out on all of the great businesses we have locally. Sure, it’s a small town in Western Alberta. But we have 8-10000 vehicles pass through here each week on their way to enjoy the wilderness of West Bragg Creek Provincial Park and Kananaskis country. And they have to drive right thought Bragg Creek to get there! Plus, we have 1.3 million people about 25 minutes to the East of us in the City of Calgary. Its shocking how many have never come out to Bragg Creek. We hope to change that. Its our hope that by shining a light, and giving a voice to the small business community, you will stop in for a coffee, or lunch, do some shopping, or give some of our service providers like plumbers, electricians, landscapers a shot at your business. Secondly, speaking personally, I love a good story. When I get to know a local entrepreneur and their business, supporting them takes on a different meaning when I know who they are and where they came from. There is a level of trust that’s established. So, if you are already a local to Bragg Creek, we hope that hearing right from the horse’s mouth of the business owner, that there is more familiarity, more knowledge of many of the hidden gems we have in the community, so you think local first when you make your buying decision. We are going to talk about where they came from, how they got their start, the challenges of building a business, and their thoughts on the local economy and what can make it even better. Maybe you are thinking of starting your own business? You may pick up some tips! Who better to learn from that those who already blazed the trail locally. Above all, we want you to be entertained and have fun listening. We are going to learn. The podcast you initially hear, will likely be very different in 6 months or a year.
